client who has mental health issues.
• To understand the precautions you
should take as a therapist when treating a client who is suffering with their
mental health

physiological aspects of mental health and be able to recognise both physical
and psychological symptoms
• To recognise where certain emotions
will manifest as physical symptoms in the body

benefits of massage therapy for the client
• To understand how to treat a client
going through the grieving process

• To learn about the physiology behind
addictive behavioural patterns in those with ADHD and how massage can help
• To improve your understanding of
eating disorders and how to use massage as a way of improving body image

psychosomatic illness so that you may be able to identify when a client’s
physical issue may be due to unmanaged stress levels
• To inform yourself of some self help
measures to suggest to your client to deal with stress
